Emergency Care Services at North Shore Medical Center

Minor Care: For minor emergencies that require urgent care, we offer Minor Care. This service is an alternative to the regular emergency department, where your treatment is determined by the severity of your condition. Minor Care is available for conditions such as:

• Lacerations
• Sprains
• Fractures
• Sore throats
• Ear infections
• Minor rashes

Emergency staff will refer you to Minor Care through the regular ER and register you at bedside to save time. This service is available from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day of the week.

Senior ER: our Senior Emergency Room exclusively serves elder patients with a focus on increasing comfort and improving clinical outcomes. The Senior ER is customized with features such as: 

• Specialized medical professionals
• Handrails
• Large clock faces, calendars, and boards with vital information
• Large telephone keypads
• Non-skid floor surfaces to prevent falls
• Thicker mattresses
